The portion of Tuscany near the boundaries of Liguria and Emilia, from the Apennines to the mouth of the river Magra, is called LUNIGIANA. It is an area full of history and culture, extraordinarily rich of natural, climatic and also food-and-wine features.
Coming to Lunigiana means, first of all, to plunge into the authenticity of its nature, protected by national and regional parks: the nature of its green valleys and woods, from the mountains of the Tuscan-Emilian Appennines and of the Apuan Alps to the Tyrrhenian coast of the Cinque Terre and Versilia. But it also means to step into the atmosphere of its many medieval castles, ancient villages, Romanesque churches, white marble quarries.
